Alcatel Latest Press Invite Teases New Smartphone Release; Could Unveil Six Smartphone

Indian smartphone maker Alcatel is one of the those many native handset makers that are still in their infancy in terms of market share. However, signs are quite bright going ahead with the company now set to enter the ring in full force.

Alcatel is currently sending out press invites for its upcoming launch event that's set to happen next week in Bangalore. The invite isn't specific about the kind of smartphones that we might see at the event, but the invite does mention that "The Smart Wave is Coming! And this is an invitation to be a part of it."

The invitation further states: "Hello! The world of smartphones is about to get a little smarter. Alcatel, the world renowned mobile phone brand is making its foray in India. With models across a broad price and feature spectrum, there's something for everybody"

6 New Smartphones on the Cards?
As we mentioned earlier, details related to the handset (or handsets) is far and few. However, GizBot managed to get an exclusive byte on the upcoming release stating that Alcatel will be releasing more than one phone at the event.

Apparently, the company could be planning on launching six different new phones at the same time. Although that number may hover around 5 or 6. And although we were unable to get deeper into the new phones, we are guessing that all of them will be budget offerings.

That the handsets will be budget offerings is just an assumption at the moment, and it should definitely be taken with a pinch of salt. However, going by the standards in the native market, Alcatel would only benefit if indeed the handsets do fall in the budget segment.

Other than that, details related to the device names and specs aren't still clear. However, more details will be unveiled at the launch event that's set for August 21 in Bangalore.
