Alcatel One Touch Hero: 6 Inch Full HD Phablet Launched With A Stylus And Host Of New Features

Alcatel, who often like to stay away from the limelight have come up with a massive 6-inch 1080p Full HD super phone. With a few more hours left until Samsung launches its mega big-ticket Galaxy Note 3, Alcatel took this opportunity by announcing Note 3 killer, a little earlier.

The Alcatel One Touch Hero is a flagship device, which not only targets main stream consumers but also fits perfectly for enterprise segment. The device is unique in nature considering it offers an alluring 6-inch Full HD 1080 panel and beefy quad core processor. Alcatel is also bundling a working Stylus with the device.

Moreover, Alcatel is bundling some really cool accessories which includes: a wireless charger, E Ink cover, Bluetooth powered companion phone, Pico projector and MagicFlip cover. First, let's have a look at the features and specifications of Alcatel One Touch Hero.

Display

The One Touch Idol Hero comes with a 6-inch capacitive touch screen (IPS) display having resolution of 1920 X 1080 pixels.

Processor, OS and RAM

The OneTouch Hero packs a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor (unknown type) coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM (expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card slot). Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean comes out of the box.

Camera

There's a 13MP rear camera with Auto Focus and LED Flash light. Also add a 2MP front facing camera. Both front and rear back cameras are capable of recording videos in Full HD format.

Connectivity and Dual SIM

The Alcatel OneTouch Hero comes with ton of connectivity options: 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, among others.

Battery

The makers have added a 3,400mAh Li Ion battery fitted inside. Whether the battery can be removed or not is unknown at the moment.

Price 

Alcatel is yet to reveal pricing as well as retail availability of One Touch Hero. The device will be sold at a premium. 

Competition

Acer Liquid S2

Apart from Alcatel OneTouch Hero smartphone, the Taiwanese giant Acer has come up with a 6-inch Full HD phone. The Acer manufactured device also includes 4K video recording facility. The Liquid S2 features a 6-inch IPS Full HD display. The phone packs a 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 (quad-core) processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM (expandable via a microSD card).

There's a 13MP rear facing camera with 4K video recording, Auto Focus and an LED Flashlight. Also add a 2MP front facing camera. The makers have added a 3300mAh non-removable Li Ion battery. Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean comes out of the box. Acer says that the device will start retailing starting October.

We have seen handsets with projector built-into the device. In this case, you can connect the projector at the side of the device. The projector can mirror the image of the display (Hero) as large a 70-inches.
