Alleged Nokia 9 hands-on images spotted ahead of MWC 2018 launch

HMD Global will soon be unveiling a slew of Nokia phones on February 25, just ahead of MWC 2018 in Barcelona. The expected handsets include the flagship Nokia 9, Oreo (Android Go Edition) based Nokia 1, Nokia 7 Plus. Apart from that, the company may also announce the global variant of the Nokia 7, Nokia 6 (2018) and the Nokia 3310 4G feature phone.

Naturally, the Nokia 9 is going to be the star of this upcoming lineup. Going by existing reports, the smartphone will carry some top-notch specs like dual selfie cameras with autofocus and FHD support and an edge-to-edge with really narrow bezels. The handset has already made its way to various benchmarking sites, revealing some of its key specs.

When it comes to the design, leaked protective cases of this Nokia flagship have given use some idea. With just days left for the MWC 2018, Indonesian publication detikINET has now images of what is claimed to be the Nokia 9. The images reportedly shows an HMD Global holding the smartphone in his hand. That said, the phone seen in the image could also be the Nokia 7 Plus.

The images are taken from far and are blurry. So there is no way of knowing for certain. Anyway, the report further reveals what to expect from the Nokia 9. The smartphone is said to sport a curved glass display and probably with an aspect ratio of 18:9. The rear panel will be made of glass as well, hinting at wireless charging feature.

According to the report, the smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm's 2017 flagship processor Snapdragon 835. There will be 128GB of internal storage space onboard. While the report doesn't mention the RAM amount, the handset is likely to come in multiple RAM variants.

In terms of optics, the Nokia 9 is likely to be equipped with a vertically stacked rear dual camera comprising of a 13MP primary sensor and a 12MP secondary sensor. For the display, it is believed to feature a 5.5-inch full-HD+ display with a screen resolution of 1080×2160 pixels.

Lastly, the smartphone is said to pack a 3,250mAh battery with fast charging support and run on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.
