Google launched the Android One program this year and the first country to receive the devices under the new initiative was India. SO far there are three Android One devices launched. And the best part of these devices is that they will be getting all the major updates from Google from time to time.
The Micromax Canvas A1, the Karbonn Sparkle V, and the Spice Dream Uno are the three devices that we are talking about here. Now according to the recent report these smartphones will be getting the Android Lollipop update by the end of January 2015.
It should be noted that all the aforementioned devices come with the similar specifications and at the moment, these are powered by Android KitKat.
The information comes from Spice Mobiles who reportedly said that it will deliver the Lollipop update for the Dream Uno by the end of January.
Since Google is in charge of the rollout, you could assume the time frame will be the same for the other two Android One phones as well. But the update may come even sooner, as an unnamed source inside Google reportedly told an Indian publication that it could land as early as mid-December.
Here are the specs of the Android One devices:
All the three devices sport 4.5-inch display offering an FWVGA resolution of 854×480 pixels and are powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek quad-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. Other specs include Android 4.4.4 KitKat, 5-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front-facing snapper, 4GB of internal storage, microSD card, dual-SIM slots, 3G connectivity, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 1,700mAh battery.
