Apple will likely to shift as many as 50 million iPhones in the first quarter of 2015 DigiTimes said in a new report citing unnamed supply chain sources.

To achieve that 50 million units mark within a three-month period would indicate an increase of 14.4% from the 43.7 million iPhones shipped during last year's March quarter. Thanks to the strong demand of the iPhone 6 in China, Apple is expected to maintain its winning streak.

Looks like Apple will likely to reach its targets, considering that Chinese buyers are fond of super large screen sized phones. Just for the reminder, Apple's largest regional sales increase came in the Greater China area, where the company's revenue jumped 70%, to $16.1 billion, year-over-year.

Apple has been lately expanding its presence in China and recently announced it would open five new stores in the country to bring its total there to 20 stores.
