Apple, the Cupertino based tech giant has been the talk of the Internet town lately, thanks to the overwhelming speculations and anticipation created by its next iteration of iPhone, Apple iPhone 6.

Now, a reliable source has suggested a date for the announcement of iPhone 6 event, which will apparently be held on September 9th. Yes, Re/code's John Paczkowski takes the credit for this particular scoop. Although this date cannot be confirmed for right now, however it makes sense given past releases.

It is expected that Apple iPhone 6 will land in stores in a redesigned look taking its design traits from the iPad Air and iPod touch. At the same time, if going by reliable sources like The Wall Street Journal Apple will launch iPhone 6 in two variants, out of which both will be larger in size than the predecessor which is 4.7-inch. Reportedly, one of the variants is said to sport a 5.5-inch display and will fall under the 'phablet' category.

At the same time, a latest report by 9to5Mac also noted that Apple's upcoming iPhone 6 will sport a panel resolution of 1704 x 960, giving it a pixel density of 416 ppi, which is way above Apple's ‘Retina display' region.

 

Going by the latest reports, it is to believed that the next-gen iPhone will come up with larger pixels, for shooting better pictures during low light conditions. Hence, Apple won't come up with a 12 or 16-megapixel sensor as rumored earlier, however it will come with the same 8-megapixel image sensor with better optical image stabilization (OIS) and auto focus.

It also appears that Apple plans to relocate the power button to the edge of the handset, alongside the redesigned volume buttons.

Latest reports have also suggested that the 5.5 inch iPhone 6 will come integrated with a special battery component which will make the device ultra-thin and revolutionary.

Looks like finally this year, Apple will take the lid off its Samsung Galaxy Gear and Android Wear competitor, the long awaited Apple iWatch. And of course if the smartwatch is unveiled alongside iPhone 6, it come with heavy integration with the smartphone considering the iOS 8 inclusion.
