A couple of days back, it was reported that Apple might announce a 4-inch iPhone in the first half of 2015. Back then, a selected few took this report seriously, while others called it a bizarre attempt to garner some quick publicity.
Now, another rumor suggests that Apple could be planning an 'iPhone mini' for 2015. The rumor comes through Timothy Arcuri, the Apple analyst for research firm Cowen & Company. Arcuri suggested that Apple could launch a mini version of the iPhone 6. The purported smartphone will join the current generation screen sizes of 4.7- inch and 5.5-inch.
According to an Apple Insider report, Arcuri cites at his sources and claims that the highlighted specs and features of the rumored iPhone 6s Mini will be similar to that of the iPhone 5s. However, the design may be changed with curved screen edges, similar to the current-generation iPhone line.
If Arcuri's prediction about the iPhone 6s Mini comes true, then the alleged device will replace the unpopular iPhone 5c, which has been selling for as low as Rs. 20,000 in India.
Apple iPhone 6s Mini rumors are scarce but we've started to see credible information emerge as the release draws nearby. Here's everything you need to know about the iPhone 6s Mini.
Sources close to the Taiwanese parts manufacturer recently claimed that Apple is working on an iPhone mini that will feature a 4-in display and will launch in 2015. Many people think that the iPhone 6, which comes with a 4.7-inch display, is too big to hold.
Timothy Arcuri, an analyst with Cowen and Company, issued a note to investors, which suggests that the rumored iPhone 6s Mini will replace the iPhone 5c. Being a low-end handset, the iPhone 6s Mini is expected to be priced on a lower side.
KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims that iPhone 5c production will end in 2015. The device doesn't include killer specifications, just like the iPhone 6. Plus, it will not support Apple Pay service.
The iPhone 6s Mini will most likely come with a fingerprint scanner and an NFC chipset. Both new features are already present in the latest-generation Apple devices.
Apple could announce the new iPhone 6s Mini in September 2015, alongside the 4.7-inch iPhone 6s and a 5.5-inch iPhone 6s Plus. We don't expect the iPhone 6s Mini to cost beyond Rs. 35,000.
