Apple to Release iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus and 4-Inch iPhone 6C This Year?

You've probably heard rumors about the 4-inch iPhone 6C that's set to make its debut sometime in September 2015. Well, rumor has it that the Cupertino-based giant is keen to bring the 4-inch form factor last seen on the iPhone 5Sand iPhone 5C.

Even though, it is hard to believe that Apple would bring a small screen sized iPhone back into the market again; however, Digitimes ( via 9to5Mac) claims that Apple iPhone 6C could be launched later this year that will sport a 4-inch display.

Not just that, the report further claims that Apple will be releasing thee iPhones this year: iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus and the iPhone 6C. All of these purported devices are expected to feature the latest version of Corning's Gorilla Glass screen protectors (hint: Gorilla Glass 4).

Furthermore, the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus are likely to come with Apple's latest A9 processors, while the smaller iPhone 6C may older the Apple A8 chip.

Apple iPhone 6C: Predictions and much more

This year's iPhone launch would be interesting in light of recent global competition. Apple is no more a niche player in the handset market. Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus dominated the global market scene and pushed Samsung off the top slot it has held for so long.

With Samsung continues to struggle to retain the top slot, Apple is likely to make some effort to grab the "premium mid-end market". Since there aren't many serious players in this segment, it would be easier for Apple to make its position strong, once the iPhone 6C hits the market.

At the high-end market, the iPhone 6 is definitely facing the heat. We still don't know how Apple can make India its third most important market after the US and China. If the Apple iPhone 6C would be priced too high, the company has no chance to muscle the so-called Chinese players, like Xiaomi and Huawei. If it's priced too low, the 6c will be called as a cheap alternative to the iPhone 6.

So far, there's little reason to cheer about the leaked iPhone 6C. Amidst all the fuss comes the obvious question: should you rush out and upgrade?

We don't know precisely what Apple will be announcing later this year and the final product could be something unexpected. Even so, it's time to start thinking about what would sway you to upgrade the iPhone 6C over a Xiaomi-made smartphone.
