So far, wearable devices from all the major smartphone manufacturers have been released. Also Microsoft has released a fitness band just recently. There are several other devices including the fitness bands and smartwatches as well powered by Android, Android Wear, Tizen available in the market.
Apple being one of the top tier manufacturers has missed out on this sector. However, the Apple Watch which is not commercially ready to make its way to the retails at the moment might just go on sale prior to the announced schedule.
A recent report from 9To5Mac, suggests that the first smartwatch from the Cupertino giant might be launched sometime in the spring, which is quite precise than the previously announced 'early 2015.' Apple's retail chief Angela Ahrendts said that the wearable should reach markets by spring. Just for reference, spring in the US starts by mid of March and ends by mid June.
The transcript of the video message that 9To5Mac got hold of reads, "We're going into the holidays, we'll go into Chinese New Year, and then we've got a new watch launch coming in the spring."
The Apple watch has got a squarish screen and it will be coming in three distinct collection and two different sizes. The three editions are Apple Watch, Apple Watch Sport and Apple Watch Edition. Apple Watch Edition is plated with 18 carat gold. Apple claims the watch is extremely customizable and perfectly apt for fitness junkies. The glass on the top uses tough sapphire glass, while the display is a flexible retina panel.
