Arise Budget Mobile Phones launched in Jammu & Kashmir
Arise India Limited who has been in the Indian business for the past 25 years has announced their entry into the mobile phone sector.
The company has been concentrating on electrical as well as other consumer electronics devices. According to the company,
India has an economy in which low price handsets can flourish. The demand for such devices is at an all time high now and this is the right time to enter.
The mobile phones are launched in Jammu and Kashmir. A total of 15 new models have been launched. The handsets are especially made for Indian customers. The phones are introduced at a very competitive price range. The handsets will go under the brand name of Arise mobiles.
The company officials have said that Jammu is a very significant market and it will contribute to their aim of taking over about 2-3 % of the Indian mobile market in the first year itself. The company is planning to invest up to about 300 crore in the mobile phone sector in the next 3 years and there by expects to gain a sure foot hold in the mobile phone scenario. The company also intends to achieve a turnover of 1000 crore by the year 2014.
The handsets are introduced under different categories. The categories are every day functionality handsets, multimedia handsets, business handsets and full touch screen handsets.
The business class will contain 2 models. Both the handsets will have full QWERTY keypad. The models are A5 and W1. A5 will be India’s first handset comprising of 4 GSM SIM. It will also have analog video features.W1 will be a dual SIM handset and it will have video calling functionality without even access to a 3G network. That is users can connect to their conventional 2G network to make video calls. Arise T777 is a full touch screen mobile.
It will have HD photo and video capturing abilities. The user interface is of 3D type and that is a very cutting edge technology to be incorporated in a budget handset.
T222 is a super slim handset that integrates touch and type functionality and they come under the multimedia handset category. The phone has dedicated music key and very powerful speakers.
A full multimedia handset whose name is not announced is also set to hit the Indian market. The handset will be of full multimedia capabilities and it will be introduced at a price of below 1000.
There will be 10 alpha numeric handsets under the Everyday functionality series. These phones will contain bigger batteries and provides the user with a very long talk time. It will also contain features like torch light, sound recorder etc that will increase the practicality of the device. Features like Bluetooth and camera will be common in all the models irrespective of the category.
Arise will set up about 450 centers all across the country and increase this to about 750 by the beginning of 2012.The different phones are available with a price tag ranging from Rs. 990/- to Rs. 4,000/-. The quality of the phones and the reasonable pricing will surely cause a stir in the Indian market.
