BigFlix, the on demand movie service from Reliance Entertainment Digital has tied-up Nokia to launch its app on the Lumia smartphones including Lumia 520, 620 and 720. Consumers will also get three-month subscription to BigFlix services that can also be used on laptops, desktops and tablets.
BigFlix services would give consumers access to a huge catalog of over 1500 films in more than six Indian languages. Also, BigFlix is working on a subscription based model and the application is already available on Android and iOS platforms.
Presenting BigFlix for Nokia Lumia lineup, Shreyash Sigtia, Business Head, BigFlix said, "The association is to augment our reach amongst the large user-base of Nokia thereby offering the experience of movie entertainment at one's convenience of time and space."
Also, Vipul Mehrotra, Director-Smart Devices, India, Middle East & Africa, Nokia said, "With access to an extensive range of blockbuster titles on BIGFLIX available in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Bengali and other Indian languages by simply streaming these movies on their smart-phones, this integration redefines entertainment on-the-go."
Coming to the Lumia smartphones available in India, Nokia has recently released Lumia 520 and Lumia 620 in the country. Also, the company has announced the launch of Lumia 720 and the handset is all set to be released by the end of this month.
Further, the online retailers in the country has already started listing the Lumia 720 for pre-order at a price of Rs 18,999 approximately. When checked on the official Nokia eStore, the Lumia 720 is listed with a 'Coming Soon' tag.
