RIM Blackberry fans are in for a treat as news reports about the arrival of the latest Blackberry handset - Blackberry 9790 Bold, hit the internet. Everything looks cool in this handset even its codename which is Onyx III. It's supposedly the successor of 9780 Bold. Running in Blackberry OS 7, Blackberry 9790 Bold sports a QWERTY keypad with nifty response to key presses.

This candy bar model is also said to be equipped with a touchpad for navigational control and is a touchscreen smartphone as well. With a screen size of 320 x 480 pixels, it sports a TFT capacitive touchscreen with Accelerometer sensor included. Only a little information is known for the camera of Blackberry 9790 Bold. The camera is apparently of high resolution and one thing is for sure; Blackberry Smartphones never disappoint people with their camera. The camera would definitely possess Digital Zoom feature and most likely will include auto focus, geo tagging and face detection features as well.

The camera is expected to offer extremely good quality pictures. So, obviously it would not be any less than a 5 Megapixel one, hopefully more. Anyways, the camera supposedly supports a maximum resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels for the captured images. Video record feature will be hopefully impressive. At least 720p HD recording would be immensely satisfying. And the video player reportedly supports almost all general video formats and likely AVI, XVID files as well.

The Music player of the phone is decent and capable of filtering stored audio tracks by Album, Artist, Genre and Playlists. It can even display Album cover arts (if available), adjust equalizer settings and play music as a background task. The handset's great phone memory means that its phonebook can record practically unlimited entries.

RIM Blackberry 9790 Bold comes with 8 GB internal memory. The memory slot is compatible with microSD cards and microSDHC cards only and supports memory extensibility. Memory is extensible only up to 32 GB which is still impressive. That much size for a smartphone memory is pretty amazing. 9790 supports Email facilities including POP3, IMAP, SMTP, Push email and Blackberry Connect. MMS and SMS (in threaded view) are supported. The phone's loudspeaker is excellent and offers brilliant quality as well besides the great audio output.

A very reliable Bluetooth with A2DP and GPRS & EDGE compatibilities make Blackberry Bold 9790 an all-rounder. Computer and OTA synchronization is possible in the handset and also features Wireless Protocols. Also known as Blackberry Onyx III, Blackberry 9790 Bold is available only in Black colours and RIM hasn't let out any word on its price in India yet.
