BlackBerry Curve 9220: Buy the QWERTY Handset at Rs 799 per month 0% EMI Scheme
Close to three weeks ago GizBot had reported about the BlackBerry's EMI scheme on BlackBerry Z10 and Blackberry Curve. To recap on the old scheme, BlackBerry back then gave an offer to pay Rs. 4,799/- per month for 9 months, for the BlackBerry Z10, the handset that operates on the BB10 platform and Rs. 799 per month for 12 months, for the Curve 9220. They had also had made ties with banks like Axis Bank, Citibank, HDFC bank, HSBC, ICICI Bank, Kotak, SBI Card and Standard Chartered wherein people could use their above mentioned bank's credit cards to avail the EMI scheme for BlackBerry. Not only that but BlackBerry had also partnered with Idea cellular to launch a 1GB/month mobile data plan with BIS, priced at Rs. 999 per year.
Now again BlackBerry Curve 9220 has been seen on twitter with the exact same offer but this time it is only confined to BlackBerry Curve 9220. The tweet reads "BlackBerry Curve 9220. Rs. 799. 12 EMIs. No processing, interest or down payment. SMS BBEMI to 575758!". There is also a line in a tweet that says that they have also availed EMI scheme on BlackBerry Curve 9320.
As of now the price of the BlackBerry Curve 9220 is at Rs. 9790 on Flipkart. The online retailer is also offering an EMI on the device along with 5% off on eligible (HDFC, ICICI, Citibank) credit cards, debit cards and EMI. They also claim to offer 0% EMI for 3 and 6 months but the offer is valid till the end of June 2013.
Here is a short recap on the specs of the BlackBerry Curve 9220: The GSM Curve 9220 features a 2.44-inch TFT LCD screen on which the users can view QVGA pictures at a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. The QWERTY device features a well-spaced backlit QWERTY keyboard. This handset runs on older version of BlackBerry 7.1 OS which is packed with powerful pre-installed applications and the Curve has a 512 MB RAM as well.
The device on EMI sports a 2 megapixel camera which also features 5x zoom and lacks on front facing camera. The BlackBerry Curve 9220 features sensors like Accelerometer for UI auto-rotate and proximity sensor for auto turn-off.
The slim and stylish 9220 Curve comes with 512 MB ROM which can be expanded up to 32 GB using microSD or microSD. Connectivity options on the BlackBerry Curve 9220 includes Wi-Fi, GPRS and EDGE platforms. Connectors like Bluetooth and USB port is also featured in the device. The Curve 9220 is powered by a Lithium-ion 1450 mAh battery, which provides a talk time up to 7 hours.
