Is BlackBerry Preparing Mini Q10 Under R Series?
Until now, BlackBerry has come up with two high-end devices including the all touch BlackBerry Z10 and BlackBerry Q10, a QWERTY Key-pad cum touch screen business smartphone. While the former has already entered Indian boundaries the later will grace the market soon. However now, reports are in that the Canadian tech firm is all set to launch a cheaper version of Q10.
The device has been de-coded in the form of a sketch, outed by Blackberry Empire report and according to Indonesian site Ihaini, the upcoming handset will fall under R-Series brand name, and is meant to target emerging markets such as India, and China.
Reportedly, the sketch simply flaunts the rear side of the device and shows the new handset will have built in microSD card for memory expansion, full QWERTY Key-pad, 8GB of internal memory, 3.5mm head phone jack and 1,800mAh Li Ion battery fitted inside.

The handset is currently assumed to go on sale for approximately Rs. 15,000 - Rs. 20,000 in the International market, as per early estimates.
Besides that, the rumored BB10 powered device surely shares design elements with vendor's Curve lineup of devices. It simply means: a cheaper QWERTY Key-pad cum touch enabled R-Series could ignite sales in Indonesia, India and Middle East.
Apple is preparing a mass consumable iPhone to better compete with the growing dominance of Samsung in India. Taking cues from Apple, BlackBerry could be thinking in the same manner as Cupertino-based giant intends to do with affordable iPhone. BlackBerry sells BB Z10 in India for astonishing Rs.43, 490, which are close to what Apple demand consumers to pay for its iPhone 5.
Recently, the road map to future BlackBerry devices was on every one's lips. Interestingly, a physical supported handset dubbed as R10 was also visible in the leaked Road Map 2013 image. The device will likely to arrive in Q2 2014. Is R-Series stand for cheaper BB10 powered handsets?
The authenticity of R-Series as reported by Indonesian site Ihaini could be well played prank. If BlackBerry really wants to succeed, a cheaper BB10 handset is needed at this hour to bring back past glory. GizBot will update you on the R-Series time -to- time. Stay tuned to GizBot.
