Hey, I'm the newest member of BlackBerry family, want to know me more? This line could be happily used by the makers behind the BlackBerry Z10 in their upcoming advertisements. Until now, the struggling giant was busy promoting the BlackBerry Q10, and the full touch screen supported BlackBerry Z10.
Now it seems that the tech vendor should start working on a marketing plan to promote - BlackBerry R10. It is the same device that was leaked last month. Made completely from plastic, it is expected to be the third handset in a row to be powered by BB10 mobile OS.
As of now, the handset was revealed in a form of an alleged image that managed to grab few headlines on the internet. Now another update in regards to BB R10 hits the web. CrackBerry is reporting that the red version of BlackBerry R10 is set to launch in the Q3 2013. Earlier the white version of the device was leaked.
The upcoming handset is surely on a budget side. It definitely lacks the premium finish of BlackBerry Q10. Emerging countries like India, and China would be thankful to folks over at BlackBerry, if they announce this handset as early as possible. At Rs. 43,490, the BB Z10, is way above the competition. So, GizBot believes that the upcoming BB R10 should be priced under Rs. 20,000. As the rumors of cheaper iPhone gets more coverage, BlackBerry wants to make its place secure at earliest.
It is not known whether R-series stands for cheaper BB10 OS devices or not. But the coming of BB R10 in Q3 2013 could be a wrong decision all together, as other tech vendors - Samsung, HTC, Huawei, and Nokia, are planning to announce major Windows Phone 8 handsets. BlackBerry should announce the budget centric- BB R10, next month or so, to better position in markets like India.
BlackBerry has tried to position itself as a youth loving brand, when the company launched ultra affordable BB devices under Rs.10,000. That experiment paid off well making the tech vendor quite popular among its targeted audience as well as with college going students. Who can forget Vodafone's BlackBerry Boys advert?
