Samsung, the Korean handset manufacturer, took the wraps off the Galaxy S3, its flagship smartphone at an Unpacked Event held in London on May 3, 2012. The handset is the best selling device and has reached 10 million units of sales in only two months of its launch.
However, several manufacturers like Apple, Nokia, Motorola, HTC and others are coming up with their flagship models to directly compete with the Galaxy S3. In order to strive in the smartphone arena, Samsung is prepping another color variant of the handset.
A few days ago, the official Facebook page of Samsung posted the pictures of Samsung Galaxy S3 in black, following which, Gizbot carried a reported that Samsung Galaxy S3's Black color variant is in the pipeline.
As per a recent report by MobileFun, a UK based tech blog, “We’re happy to announce that Mobile Fun will be stocking the Samsung Galaxy S III sim free… in black! As far as we know, we’re the first to announce a price and release date for the new phone. The new color scheme looks fantastic when paired with the S3′s sweeping curves and thin frame, with a subtle texture that looks fantastic as you move it in the light.”
The report went on stating that, “The black Samsung Galaxy S III is headed to the United Kingdom in 4-6 weeks, but now it appears the phone will make its way to the United States, too. T-Mobile’s website currently has a small rotating platform that displays several of its most popular and powerful smartphones that it offers. However, about 30 – 45 seconds into the clip there’s something we haven’t seen from T-Mobile before: a glossy black Galaxy S III. We’ve included the image above (and below) for your enjoyment and have reached out to T-Mobile USA for official comment. This could be a mistake on the part of the web design team, or it could mean we’ll be seeing the smartphone pop up soon.”
Coming to specifications front, the Galaxy S3 sports a 4.8 inch Super AMOLED display with a high definition resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels It is powered by a quad core 1.4 GHz Exynos 4 quad processor and a 1 GB RAM. Furthermore, tt features an 8 MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash and a 1.9 MP front camera that facilitates video calling.
