Almost all the tech giants are in a rush to launch their latest devices before the festive season kicks off in India, that starts from next month.
Along with Sony, BlackBerry, Huawei and Lenovo, Samsung also falls in the same league and the company is all set to launch few of its new devices in India on September 27.

The company has already started sending the press invites to the tech media world. While, the South Korean tech giant is expected to launch its latest metal flagship smartphone 'Galaxy Alpha,' sources close to GizBot have confirmed that Samsung will also launch its latest smartwatch which was unveiled at the Berlin-based tech show IFA 2014.
Yes, Samsung will launch the latest Galaxy Gear S - the company's first smartwatch with independent voice calling support in India on September 27.

Anyways, specs-wise, the Galaxy Alpha features a 4.7-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) Super AMOLED display. It is powered by an octa-core chipset, most probably Samsung's Exynos SoC, with quad-core 1.8GHz and quad-core 1.3GHz.
The smartphone also comes in a quad-core variant with a clock speed of 2.5GHz, presumably the Snapdragon 805 SoC the other LTE-A smartphones are carrying. It runs the latest Android 4.4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box.

Since most of the flagship device from Samsung which are launched in India come with octa core SoC, we can expect the company to announce the octa-core variant of the Galaxy Alpha at the Septemeber 27th event.
Apart from LTE, other connectivity options include Micro-USB, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPRS/EDGE, 3G, and NFC. The Galaxy Alpha, much like the flagship Galaxy S5, comes with fingerprint scanner.
There is 2GB of RAM and 32GB inbuilt storage, which is non-expandable. The Galaxy Alpha sports a 12-megapixel rear camera and also includes 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera. It packs an 1860mAh battery.
The Galaxy Alpha was launched with Charcoal Black, Dazzling White, Frosted Gold, Sleek Silver, and Scuba Blue color variants.

The Samsung Gear S sports a 2 inch (360 x 480 pixels) Super AMOLED Curved display. It is powered by a 1 GHz Dual-Core processor coupled with a 512MB RAM. It runs on Tizen based wearable platform and houses 4GB internal memory. Since there is a SIM card slot in the device, the device is capable of making 2G and 3G calls as well via Bluetooth. The smartwatch comes with a IP67 Certification and thus it is dust and water resistant.
Also it supports WiFi: 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, A-GPS/Glonass and features S Health and Heart Rate sensor. Other hardware includes: Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Compass, Ambient Light, UV, Barometer and it is powered by a 300mAh Li-ion battery that promises up to 2 days of battery life.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy Note 4 and the limited edition Galaxy Note Edge might take a while to arrive in India. Latest, reports hint that both the phablets will debut in the Indian market by October 2014-end.
