Every major tech vendor across the globe is aiming to make big in the Indian handset market. The penetration of smartphones in India is still low compared to other economies. There is immense scope for global tech vendors to do business in India.
ZTE Corporation, the top tier-1 global manufacturer of smartphones is planning to announce a new high-end phone in India in the coming weeks. Grand S was announced earlier this year at CES 2013. The phone has been well received at a global level. The device also won several awards for its unique design.
In an exclusive chat, Amit Saxena, Director - Marketing , ZTE India told GizBot that the company is geared up to launch Grand S in India around Diwali. It will be priced under Rs. 30,000 in the Indian handset market. The senior executive over at ZTE India did not disclose exact retail price. He also said that ZTE is planning more devices like Grand S in the coming months.
ZTE, the world's fourth largest smartphone vendor in the world, is excited to bring Grand S in India. The phone is a premium handset from the house of ZTE. Let's have a look at the internal specifications and features of ZTE Grand S.
Display and Design
The Grand S comes with a 5-inch IPS capacitive touch screen Full HD display having resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels at 441 ppi. The display can produce 16.7 million colors. The Grand S measures 6.9mm in terms of thickness. It's a new super -thin Full HD smartphone.
The phone is powered by a 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 quad-core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory. The ROM is expandable up to 64GB via a microSD card. Being stuffed with 2GB RAM and heavy duty quad core processor, the device will likely to be ultra-fast.
The Grand S comes with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box. We're told that the phone will indeed comes with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean at launch.
There's a 13-mega pixel rear facing camera with Auto Focus and a LED Flash light. ZTE design and manufactures its own camera module. Also add a 2-mega pixel front facing camera. Both front and rear facing cameras are capable of recording video in 1080p Full HD resolution.
Dolby Digital Sound
ZTE Grand S uses a dedicated Dolby chipset for enhanced and superior sound quality. It would definitely make a difference, when one hear sound coming from an ordinary smartphone vs. ZTE Grand S.
The makers have added a 1,780mAh Li Ion battery side. The battery will be non-removable.
Connectivity options and Price
Other highlighted connectivity options include: 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and, GPS with A-GPS, among others. The phone won't support 4G LTE.
