5 Things to Know About Oppo F1s Diwali Edition Launched in India Today
Festive season is around the corner and smartphone makers have started offering deals and special editions of their devices to brighten up the product space.
The first one to start the trend is the Chinese smartphone maker Oppo, which has introduced a special Diwali edition of its Selfie focused smartphone- Oppo F1s.

The new edition is basically a redesigned variant of the original Oppo F1s smartphone that was launched in August 2016.

Design: Metal Uni-body design with a redesigned Back panel
To differentiate the smartphone from the original variant, Oppo has redesigned the back panel that now features a Diwali-themed lamp or a flame engraved on a golden-hued back panel. The rear panel also have signatures from Bollywood actors Hrithik Roshan and Sonam Kapoor, which are brand ambassadors of Oppo smartphones. As per Oppo, the engraved signature will not fade away with time because of the robust engraving technology used by the manufacturing team.
The smartphone has an all-metal uni-body design with the volume rockers and power button placed on the left and right sides respectively. There is a 13MP camera on the rear with PDAF and LED flash.
The front has a 5.5-inch display with a fingerprint sensor.
5.5-inch 720P display
There's no change in display department and the special edition Oppo F1S boasts a 5.5-inch High Definition IPS display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. While the resolution does not match the current market standards, the brightness level is good and viewing angles are also decent.

16MP Selfie-camera
The USP of the smartphone is its 16MP front facing camera that comes with a 1/3.1-inch sensor and f/2.0 aperture. We used the camera for a while and were pleased with the results. The front camera has a number of modes including Beautify 4.0 app to brighten up the selfies, the Selfie Panorama that stitches together three selfies, and the Screen Flash feature.
The smartphone has a 13MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture that also delivers good images.
Hardware and Software
Oppo F1S Diwali edition is powered by an octa-core Mediatek MT6750 SoC, coupled with the Mali-T860 MP2 GPU and 3GB of RAM. The smartphone has 32GB internal storage, which can be expanded by up to 128GB via microSD card. The smartphone is powered by a 3075mAh battery unit.

Besides, the smartphone also sports a fingerprint sensor on the home button, which as per unlocks the handset in just 0.22 seconds.
Oppo F1S Diwali edition runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with Oppo's ColorOS on top. The company has designed special Diwali themed icons and themes to differentiate the user interface from the original variant.

Pricing and Availability
Priced at Rs. 17,990, the smartphone will go up for pre-orders on Oppo retail stores across the country from October 8 to October 13. Oppo will also sell the smartphone on Snapdeal from October 14.
