Apple iPhone 7 vs iPhone 6s: What's Different?
t the Keynote event in San Fransisco, Apple finally pulled the wraps of the much anticipated iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus along with their pricing. At the first glance, the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus won't differ much in terms of design when compared to last year's iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, but a lot has changed internally.
The only visual change will be the prominent bigger camera bumps on the rear and a dual rear camera for the iPhone 7 Plus. However, there is also a new color variant of the smartphones, namely 'jet black', which looks damn good.

Design
There is no change in the dimensions of the smartphones when compared to their predecessors. However, the new iPhones are touted to be lighter than the last generation iPhones. One of the biggest change every Apple user will be waiting to see in the iPhones is that they are now water and dust resistant, which is a welcome upgrade.
Talking more about the design, the only difference can be seen on the rear camera module which is now slightly bigger when compared with iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. The home button gets a revamp as well and it is not clickable anymore. The company has added a new 'taptic engine', which is same as the force touch feature on the MacBook Pro.
Screen
Everything, including the screen resolution, display sizes remain the same as their predecessors. However, the new iPhones screen is said to be 25 percent brighter than the last year's iPhone 6s and 6s Plus.
Storage
Rumors were true. Apple finally got rid of the 16GB model as their base variant, which was asked by many iPhone users all over the world. Now, the company has chosen 32GB as their base model and other storage options include 128GB and 256GB.
Pricing for these models remains same as what Apple initially releases a new iPhone, but in India, the price is 4 percent less than the release price of the iPhone 6s.
Processor and Graphics
Apple is packing the next generation Apple chipset and they call it as 'A10 Fusion chip'. According to Apple, the chip is a quad-core one and the smartphone is 40 percent faster than the iPhone 6s. Apple also upgraded the motion processor in the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, which is now 50 percent faster than the iPhone 6s motion processor.
Camera
Camera department on the new iPhones received a major overhaul. The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus arrive with a new camera sensor which is paired with 12MP camera. Previously, the Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) was limited to the iPhone 6s Plus, but this time around, Apple has added it to iPhone 7 as well.
The iPhone 7 Plus has a dual-rear camera and both of them are 12MP shooters. Apple claims that the camera on iPhone 7 Plus provides additional depth of field and better wide-angle zooming.
Ports
Another noticeable change in the new iPhones. The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus doesn't come with a 3.5mm headphone jack, instead they use the lightning port to connect headphones. Apple claimed that they will bundle a lightning port to 3.5mm headphone jack converter.
Colors
The new iPhones arrive in five different colors- jet black, black, gold, rose gold, and silver. Now, noticeable change here is Apple removed the space gray color variant of the smartphone. But, the jet black color variant looks insanely good, at least on the screen.
Price
Apple always follows a tradition in pricing. The iPhone 7 ships with a price tag of $649 and Apple's Indian website listed the price in INR as Rs. 60,000 for the base 32GB model. The iPhone 7 Plus starts at $749. Apple also reduced the price of last year's iPhones by $100, which is kind of tradition for them.
