Asus is all geared up to unwrap three smartphones in the ZenFone 3 series ahead of the Computex 2016 event on May 30. Now, the Taiwan-based maker has come up with the first teaser of the series.
Well, the video shows us the profiles of the trio of smartphones that will go official this month. The three devices are - ZenFone 3, ZenFone 3 Deluxe, and ZenFone 3 Max.
For now, Asus has confirmed only these details officially. However, here are details on what we can expect from the upcoming Asus ZenFone 3 lineup.
ZenFone 3 series will be mid-range
Last week, it was confirmed by Jerry Shen, Asus CEO that these smartphones will be mid-range.
But, he stated that the lineup will not be showcased at the Zenvolution event, which is contradictory given the video teaser that is official.
Qualcomm chipsets might render more efficiency and power
A report stated that the use of Qualcomm chipsets in the ZenFone 3 lineup will result in higher efficiency and power as well.
Even Shen revealed that over 90 percent of the ZenFone 3 units will use Qualcomm SoCs. The other models will use MediaTek SoCs. He confirmed that Intel chipsets will be off the table this year.
Asus might showcase ZenFone 3 specs at Zenvolution
A news website stated that there are chances for the manufacturer to showcase the specs of the ZenFone 3 handsets at Zenvolution on May 30.
It pointed out that the promotional posters for the event have the Intel logo and the ZenFone devices have the Intel chipsets. This is contradictory to the confirmation made by Asus CEO. Moreover, the partnership between Intel and Asus has been ceased.
ZenFone 3 to include a slew of goodies
The ZenFone 3 series to feature many goodies such as 2.5D glass at the front and back, USB Type-C port, a fingerprint sensor, front facing flash, optional Smart Flip Cover and laser autofocus.
ZenFone 3 is likely to feature a thin aluminum design and 2.5 D glass and three capacitive buttons. The ZenFone 3 Deluxe will sport a metal design and have a physical home button and two capacitive buttons on either side. The home button might double as a fingerprint scanner.
