Asus is launched its camera centric smartphone called the ZenFone Zoom in India. The Asus Zenfone Zoom smartphone was first announced at CES 2015, and is finally getting launched in India a year after its unveiling. The phone got announced in an event to happen in Agra, India.

The Zenfone Zoom has been touted as the thinnest smartphone, adorning a very powerful camera. The smartphone is essentially an iteration of the company's Zenfone 2 smartphone, however with a better camera. The question is that what else does the phone offer apart from the camera prowness.

Starting with the camera, the Asus ZenFone Zoom comes with a 13MP primary camera with optical zoom lens, but without the bulky protruding set up like we saw on Nokia Lumia 1020 and recently on Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom. The camera is supported with OIS and a 10 element lens, is capable of focusing from a distance of merely 5cm. There is a 5MP front-facing camera for selfie enthusiasts.

The Asus Zenfone Zoom is 12mm thick, and weighs 185 grams, which is quite impressive considering that the phone has a optical camera lens. Ergonomics and design-wise, the phone seems quite impressive. The front of the Zenfone Zoom adorns a 5.5 inch full HD display with 1080p display.

It is powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3560 processor with PowerVR G6430 graphics, which is the same as the Asus Zenfone 2. The processor seems powerful and should work well, considering that it performs well on the Zenfone 2.

The interesting part is that this smartphone features a massive 4GB of RAM, which is paired with 16/32/64/128 GB of internal storage.
