BlackBerry DTEK50 Announced: 8 Features of the Most Secure Android Phone You Should Know
With the intention of reviving its glorious days, BlackBerry announced a new Android-based smartphone dubbed BlackBerry DTEK50. It is claimed to be the world's most secure Android smartphone as it comes with a DTEK security app.

The highlight is that BlackBerry assures to deliver timely security patches that is one of the main glitches that Android smartphones are grappling with. In order to provide stringent security, BlackBerry has made numerous tweaks in the software.

The BlackBerry DTEK50 is priced at $299 (approx. Rs 20,000) that makes it reasonable and it will be up for pre-order in select markets. Slimmest Phone from BlackBerry
The BlackBerry DTEK50 is the slimmest smartphone that has come from BlackBerry's stable so far as it measures just 7.4 mm thick.
Hardware
BlackBerry DTEK50 flaunts a 5.2-inch FHD 1080p scratch-resistant display with an anti-smudge coating and employs an octa-core Snapdragon 617 processor under its hood with 3 GB RAM and 16 GB storage that can be expanded up to 2 TB. A 2,610 mAh battery with fast charging powers the device.
Other Specs
The device comes with a 13 MP main snapper with dual-tone LED Flash, f/2.0 aperture, and PDAF, and an 8 MP front-facer with 84-degree wide angle lens, f/2.2 aperture and LED flash. There are 4G LTE, and NFC connectivity features as well.
Software
Based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the BlackBerry DTEK50 comes along with security, privacy, and productivity suite that is integrated to the device. It is preloaded with the BlackBerry Hub that is a consolidated platform for communications including social, phone calls, calendar or email.
DTEK Security App
The BlackBerry DTEK50 is also preloaded with the DTEK security app that is monitors the OS and the applications and keeps the users informed whenever their privacy is at risk. The app will notify users whenever photos or videos are taken or text messages are sent from your smartphone without your knowledge.
Address Space Layout Randomization
This is a feature that scrambles the system memory in order to make it tough for the hackers to breach the security. BlackBerry claims to have included an improved boot-loader that assures a secure boot process and only a BlackBerry signed OS can be installed.
Disk Level Encryption
The device is claimed to protect users data in case of loss or theft with the FIPS 140-2 Compliant Full Disk Encryption.
Anti-Smudge Coating
The screen has an anti-smudge coating that is claimed to be a security feature. The company says that the oily residue from fingers that is left on the screen can be used to get the sensitive details such as passwords. The oleophobic coating will avoid smudges making it a security feature.
