Lately, Huawei started sending invites for a press event slated to happen on September 1. Once the media invites were sent, everyone started assuming that the manufacturer will launch its next generation flagship, the Mate 9 phablet at the IFA 2016 tech show.

However, it is confirmed that the Mate 9 might not be unveiled at the IFA tech show as Bruce Lee, the company's Mobile Product line manager claims that it will not happen. He stated that the Mate 8 was launched in November 2015 and they will not introduce its sequel so soon.

What to Expect from Mate 9?

The Huawei Mate 9 is expected to go official in November this year. Though we have not seen any renders of the device, several rumors are making rounds all over the internet. As per the rumors, the Mate 9 could ship with a Kirin 960 SoC that is the upcoming flagship SoC from Huawei.

Kirin 950 SoC is already powerful and its successful should be even more powerful. The device will be metallic as its predecessor and we can expect it to feature a pressure sensitive display. The other aspects of the Mate 9 are likely to be an improved camera, 6 GB RAM and Emotion UI skin based on Android Nougat or Android Marshmallow.
