Hide contact photos in Messages

As per 9To5Mac, if you disable the Show Contact Photos option in Settings → Messages, then the photos that used to appear at the top of Message app conversation threads will be hidden as well. So you can actually hide your contact images in messages conversation in the iOS 10.2.

New Celebration effect in iMessage

iOS 10 has truly revamped the iMessage and iOS 10.2 Beta is making new additions to it. The Beta build adds a new full screen celebration effect to iMessage, which is similar to the fireworks full screen effect.

Preserve Camera Settings

iOS 10.2 Beta 1 also adds a new Preserve Settings panel in the Camera app preferences. The new feature will allow you to preserve the last used Camera Mode, a Photo Filter, or Live Photo setting in the stock Camera app.

Other Notable Features

Besides, iOS 10.2 Beta also adds a new Siri splash screen, improvements to Notification widgets that can now remember you last location, music star ratings in music app, a new Home button accessibility setting, etc.

It is worth mentioning that the Beta builds released by Apple are not the final products and include many bugs. It is advisable that you should install them on a secondary device.
