Lately, LeEco acquired 28.9 percent stake in the fellow Chinese manufacturer Coolpad as the latter couldn't survive the competition in the smartphone industry. Together, these companies were speculated to announce the Cool1 smartphone.
Well, the Cool1 smartphone is now official and it is the first one in the Cool lineup to feature a dual camera setup at its rear. The device comes in Gold, Rose Gold and Silver color options and it is priced starting from 1,099 Yuan (approx. Rs 11,100). It will be available for sale from August 14.

The Cool1 has quite powerful specs that make it one of the best mid-rangers that are available in the market right now. It comes in three different variants as per the RAM and internal storage capacities.

Cool1 uses Dual Camera 2.0 tech
The dual camera setup on the rear of the Cool1 smartphone makes use of the Dual Camera 2.0 technology. The new generation Dual Camera 2.0 tech uses a black and white camera sensor anlong with a color sensor. The information of all these are clubbed together to render better looking photos. It is similar to the dual camera setup on the Huawei P9 and V8.
Better than the Redmi Pro dual camera
With the Dual Camera 2.0 tech, the Cool1 is better than the Redmi Pro that makes use of the first generation Dual Camera tech. The latter uses just a regular camera sensor and a depth of field sensor that will double as the secondary camera.
Cool1 to render improved image clarity and brightness
As per the makers, the Cool1 is claimed to render around 20 percent improved image clarity and brightness and reduce the noise by around 8 percent. Eventually, the phone can click better low light images in comparison to the traditional single camera module.
Camera specs sound great
There is f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, dual-tone LED flash, 6P lens and a slew of filter support and standalone white and black modes. Also on board is an 8 MP selfie shooter with 80-degree wide angle lens. The dual camera setup can render better depth sensing for realistic bokeh effect.
Unlock the Cool1 in just 0.15 seconds
The Cool1 phone is fitted with a fingerprint sensor at the rear of the unibody metal design. This sensor can unlock the phone in just 0.15 seconds. The fingerprint sensor can also be used to click snaps.
It gets an in-cell display as in the LeEco phones
The Cool1 phone is bestowed with a 5.5-inch Full HD 1080p IPS in-cell display with 450 nits brightness and 72% NTSC color gamut.
There are three variants of Cool1 phone
There are three variants of the Cool1 smartphone. One comes with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB of internal storage and another one comes with 4 GB RAM and 32 GB storage capacity. The high end model comes with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB of storage space on board. The pricing of these variants are 1,099 yuan (Rs 11,100). 1,499 yuan (Rs 15,100), and 1,699 yuan (Rs 17,100) respectively.
Incorporates the Snapdragon 652 SoC
It features an octa-core Snapdragon 652 processor under its hood with the above mentioned storage and RAM variations. Also, it runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow topped with EUI 5.6.
There's a reversible USB Type-C port
As the use of the USB Type-C port is becoming a mainstream feature these days, the Cool1 smartphone also has one. This can be used for charging and syncing as well. The device comes with 4G LTE support and it can be used as a universal remote too. It has dual SIM dual standby support too, but it lacks NFC.
Supports fast charging feature
Both LeEco and Coolpad have played the game smart by making use of a large 4,060 mAh battery that comes along with the fast charging feature.
