Last month, Lenovo Vibe K5 made its way into the Indian market carrying a price tag of Rs 6,999. Exclusive to the online retailer Amazon India, this smartphone is available on an open sale today that leaves users free the registration process to get hold of the device.
Lenovo announced that it sold over 100,000 units of the Vibe K5 in two flash sales. Now, the company claims to be ramping up the production of the device in order to meet the increasing demand in India.
In the same price bracket, Micromax announced the Canvas Fire 5 smartphone is available at Rs 5,199. This device is an entertainment-centric smartphone aimed at the music buffs. It also has front-facing speakers for those who require an immersive audio experience.
Now, here is a comparison between the Lenovo Vibe K5 and Micromax Canvas Fire 5 for a clear understanding of which one will be a better buy for you.
The Lenovo smartphone boasts a 5-inch HD 720p display that gets a better pixel density of 294 ppi whereas the Micromax handset adorns a larger 5.5-inch display with the same HD 720p resolution resulting in a pixel density of 267 ppi. Notably, both are IPS LCD panels.
Processor & RAM
Lenovo Vibe K5 is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 415 processor that is teamed up with Adreno 405 graphics and 2 GB RAM. On the other hand, the Micromax smartphone is equipped with a quad-core MediaTek MT6580 processor that is combined with Mali-400MP2 and 1 GB RAM. Obviously, the Vibe K5 is a powerhouse in terms of the hardware aspects.
Both the smartphones are identical in terms of storage as they are packed with 16 GB of internal memory capacity that can be expanded up to 32 GB using a micro SD card slot.
The Canvas Fire 5 is based on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system whereas the Vibe K5 runs on the dated Android 5.1 Lollipop platform.
Lenovo Vibe K5 has an edge over the Micromax smartphone in terms of imaging as it features a 13 MP main snapper at back with LED flash, HDR and more. In comparison, the Canvas Fire 5 has an 8 MP main snapper with LED flash. At the front, both the smartphones feature a 5 MP selfie snapper.

The battery capacity in Lenovo Vibe K5 is a 2,750 mAh one that is claimed to provide up to 322 hours of standard time and 15 hours of talk time. On the other hand, the 2,500 mAh battery powering the Micromax smartphone is claimed to provide up to 450 hours of standby time and 8.5 hours of talk time.
The Micromax Canvas Fire 5 comes with dual front-facing speakers with Auro 3D sound that would be great for the music buffs. However, it missed out on 4G LTE support that the Lenovo Vibe K5 offers to the users. Moreover, it features a premium looking aluminum casing.
