Lava is one of the Desi handset company striving hard to get a place in the Indian market amid other heavy weights. As per the recent report, Lava emerged as the fastest growing Indian smartphone brand last year with a massive 214 percent growth. The Counterpoint Research stated that the Lava company has recorded revenues of $1.2 billion in FY2014-15. Talking about its market, the Indian handset maker sells a wide range of Android smartphones in both entry level and midrange segment.

Saying that, the Noida-based handset maker Lava has launched its mid-range smartphone in the market dubbed as X81 under 'X' series. Priced at Rs. 11,499, it will be available for sales in all retail stores and Flipkart from June 13. Talking about the freebies, the handset will come with an Airtel double data offer and 1 yr free screen replacement for the smartphone within the first month.

Lack of fingerprint sensor!

In terms of specifications, the Lava X81 sports a 5-inch HD IPS 2.5D curved glass display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. On the hardware front, this device comes with a quad-core MediaTek processor clocked at 1.3GHz clubbed with 3GB RAM and 16GB ROM. In the era of fingerprint and biometric sensor, Lava has launched a mid-ranger without fingerprint sensor, which is pretty disappointing.

The Lava X81 flaunts a 13MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and dual LED flash. On the front, it is packed with 5MP camera with dual LED flash, 84-degree wide-angle lens, f/2.4 aperture.

4G with VoLTE is the highlight!

The Lava X81 is shipped with Android 6.0 Marshmallow topped with Star OS 3.0 out of the box. Moreover, this device supports connectivity options including 4G LTE with VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, FM Radio. Also, the mid-ranger is powered by a 2700mAh battery.
