Microsoft has been flying high of late, especially when it comes to the smartphone business. After making some amends to their way of approaching Windows Mobile smartphone, the Redmond giant introduced three new smartphones at an event a few months back.
As you may already be aware, the phones referred to here are none other than the Lumia 950 and 950 XL. Besides that, the Redmond giant has also launched a Lumia 550. However, the successor of the Lumia 730 and Lumia 640 went unuttered at the event.
However a new report by Windows Central shows the Lumia 650 smartphone with a thin metal frame. The reports include a render of the alleged smartphone which gives a see through the timeline to guess how the Lumia 650 will actually look like when it is officially launched.
Alleged specs of the Microsoft Lumia 650 have also leaked down the pipeline. So without further ado let's find out what's in store when the Redmond giant launches their upcoming mid-range Lumia smartphone.
According to the new report Microsoft is reportedly referring to the Lumia 650 as ‘Saana'. For those unaware every smartphone brand uses codename during the development phase. In fact the smartphone clear pre-launch benchmark test using these codenames.
Microsoft Lumia 650 aka. Saana will run on the latest iteration of Windows 10 Mobile OS. The interface is marked improvement from the previous generations and comes with a number of new features. Just to recall the Windows 10 Mobile OS made its debut on the Lumia 950XL and Lumia 950 a few months back.
Reports suggest that the Lumia 650 will sport a 5 inch HD (1280x720p) display upfront. A Full HD display however would have been a better option.
Under the hood the Microsoft Lumia 650 will be powered by a 64 bit enabled quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 SoC. This is strapped to 1GB of RAM and Adreno 304 GPU.
The Lumia 650 is expected to come with an 8MP rear camera along with a 5MP front facing camera. Whether or not the rear camera will be equipped with a LED Flash isn't known as of now.
Microsoft is incorporating a MicroSD card inside the Lumia 650. Possibly the smartphone will support MicroSD card upto 128GB. Apart from that the Lumia 650 will come with 8GB of internal storage.
In terms of connectivity the smartphone comes with a WiFi, NFC, HD Voice, WiFi Calling, Bluetooth 4.1 and Dual SIM. Whether or not it will sport a USB Type C port is not known as of now.
Details regarding the exact specifications of the battery isn't known as of yet. However reports state that the smartphone will come with support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0.
The Microsoft Lumia 650 will come in two colour variants - Matte Black and White. Microsoft may however end up launching a few more colour variants of the smartphone.
The report by Windows Central state that Microsoft will launch the Lumia 650 somewhere between January and February next year. Details regarding the pricing of the smartphone are however not known yet.
