Subsequently, OnePlus 3T's imminent announcement probably means that people won't be able to purchase OnePlus 3 anymore.
While visiting the company's website right now OnePlus 3 has gone out of stock. Most likely, the company wants people to check out the powerful OnePlus 3T before making their final buying decisions.
However, the new phone comes as an upgrade over the currently available OnePlus 3. OnePlus 3T with improvements in various segments such as camera, storage, battery, and processor will be a good reason for people to upgrade to the better performing gadget.
Here are 10 features of the new OnePlus 3T that you need to know.
OnePlus 3T looks to be more powerful as it features a 2.35GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, which is faster and efficient. On the contrary, it still has got 6GB of RAM that we saw in the OnePlus 3.
OnePlus 3T brings 64GB of storage in its base model, but users also have an option to upgrade to 128GB of internal storage.
Upgraded Front Camera
The front camera system also gets an upgrade. The 8MP front facing camera has been scrapped and is replaced by a 16MP camera which is integrated with Samsung 3P8SP sensor, f/2.0 aperture, and full HD video recording. The rear camera, however, remains the same as 16 MP.
Screen and Body
The OnePlus 3T comes with a 5.5-inch 1080p, Optic AMOLED display with a pixel density of 401ppi, Gorilla Glass 4 protection and anodised aluminium unibody just like the OnePlus 3.
While we were expecting the OnePlus 3T to run Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box, but it comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based Oxygen OS. However, OnePlus has promised Nougat update within a couple of months.
The OnePlus 3T brings new color variant, "Gunmetal." This new color replaces "Graphite" from the OnePlus 3, although the "Soft Gold" clolor option is still available.
Some Other Features
The phone has a fingerprint sensor at the front and a USB Type-C connector. The battery continues to support OnePlus' DashCharge technology for fast charging. The OnePlus 3T supports dual-SIM,4G LTE (Cat. 6), dual-band Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, NFC, USB 2.0 with Type-C port, Google Cast, GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Bluetooth 4.2 (with LE), and a 3.5mm audio jack.
The good news is the OnePlus 3T won't be as expensive as we would have expected. The 64GB internal storage variant is priced at $439 (Approx Rs. 30,000) and the 128GB variant will come for $479 (Approx Rs. 32,000).
The device will go on sale November 22 in the US and November 28 in Europe. However, no word about when the 3T will be launched in India. On a positive note, the sale might soon follow after the launch in U.S. and European markets.
