Reliance Digital is in the tech headlines for two things - one is the Jio 4G SIM card that comes with a slew of bundled benefits such as free data and calls for three months and the other is the LYF lineup of smartphones.

Now, the company has added another 4G VoLTE capable smartphone dubbed LYF Water 8. This smartphone is priced at Rs 10,999 and it can compete with the other 4G capable smartphones in the mid-range smartphone segment in India.

LYF Water 8 – Design

The LYF Water 8 features a sophisticated dual glass finish and a sleek metallic frame. It has an inspiring Ultralight Unibody design giving it a classy look.

The LYF Water 8 smartphone from Reliance is bestowed with a 5-inch AMOLED HD 1280x720 pixel display that is pretty standard with a pixel density of 294 ppi. For its pricing, the smartphone might arrive with a better resolution as there are smartphones with FHD 1080p resolution in the mid-range market.

Talking of the hardware, the LYF Water 8 employs a 1.5 GHz Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor from Qualcomm that is clubbed with 3 GB of RAM. While the hardware sounds impressive, the smartphone is given 16 GB of native storage capacity that can be expanded up to 64 GB using a micro SD card slot.

The Reliance LYF Water 8 smartphone features a 13 MP rear-facing camera along with autofocus. Up front, the smartphone boasts a 5 MP front-facer to click selfies. This smartphone can be said to be a selfie-focussed device as there is LED flash along with both the camera sensors. The camer comes with features such as OptiZoom and ChromaFlash that will give life to the photos.

The LYF Water 8 is a decent smartphone, but in terms of competition it will face the heat with better specced smartphones such as Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 and LeEco Le 2 that are priced similarly.
