Samsung Galaxy J Max vs Xiaomi Mi Max: The Combat of the Big Screen Phones
On Friday, Samsung announced the Galaxy J2 smartphone and the Galaxy J Max phablet in India. The phablet comes with a 7-inch display and it is priced in the mid-range market segment at Rs 13,400.
It is clear that Samsung is launching mid-range devices while the high-end Galaxy Note 7 is in the pipeline to lure the customers looking forward to purchase reasonably priced devices such as the ones from affordable device makers.

One such reasonably priced mid-range phablet is the Xiaomi Mi Max that is also a recent market entrant. This Xiaomi device carries a price tag of Rs 14,999 and it comes with a large screen as well. Samsung Galaxy J Max vs Xiaomi Mi Max: Display
The Galaxy J Max boasts a 7-inch HD WXGA TFT display that will give an immersive entertainment experience to the users. In terms of comparison, the Xiaomi Mi Max sports a 6.44-inch Full HD 1080p IPS 2.5D curved glass display topped with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 coating.
Samsung Galaxy J Max vs Xiaomi Mi Max: Hardware
The Galaxy J Max is energized by a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor that is teamed up with 1.5 GB of RAM and 16 GB of native storage capacity that can be expanded up to 200 GB. On the other hand, the Mi Max is powered by a 1.8 GHz hexa-core Snapdragon 650 processor with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB of internal memory capacity.

Mi Max flaunts a 16 MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash and PDAF. At the front, the Xiaomi phablet has a 5 MP camera with 85-degree wide-angle lens and f/2.0 aperture. This Samsung phablet features an 8 MP main snapper teamed up with f/1.9 aperture and LED flash at its back. Also on board is a 2 MP selfie camera with an aperture of f/2.2.

Samsung Galaxy J Max runs on Android 5.0.1 Lollipop OS topped with the Samsung TouchWiz UI. The Mi Max is based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow that is topped with the MIUI 8 interface. While the MIUI 8 brings eight new useful and impressive features, the Samsung offering has the S Bike mode and Ultra Data Saving mode.
