Samsung Galaxy J2 Pro vs Lenovo Vibe K5: Here's Another Smartphone Fight

On Monday, Samsung announced the Galaxy J2 Pro smartphone in India for a price of Rs 9,890. The device will be available from today and it will be exclusive to the online marketplace Snapdeal.

When it comes to the specs, the Samsung offering comes with average specifications that are available in the smartphones that are priced relatively lesser such as the Lenovo Vibe K5. There are competitors such as Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, but the spec wise, the latter is very powerful than the Galaxy J2 Pro.

Take a look at a comparison between the Samsung Galaxy J2 Pro and Lenovo Vibe K5 that are 4G smartphones in the country with some similar specs. Notably, the latter is priced quite low at Rs 6,999.

Display

Both the smartphones house a 5-inch HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The difference is that the Samsung phone has a Super AMOLED panel whereas the Lenovo offering has an IPS panel.

Processor

The Galaxy J2 Pro is powered by 1.5 GHz quad-core Spreadtrum processor that is teamed up with Mali-400MP2 graphics and 2 GB RAM. On the other hand, the Lenovo Vibe K5 is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 415 processor that is teamed up with Adreno 405 graphics and 2 GB RAM.

Storage

Both the smartphones are identical in terms of storage as they are packed with 16 GB of internal memory capacity that can be expanded up to 32 GB using a micro SD card slot.

Software

Galaxy J2 Pro is based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS whereas the Vibe K5 runs on the dated Android 5.1 Lollipop OS.

Camera

Talking of the imaging optics, Galaxy J2 Pro comes with an 8 MP rear camera with LED Flash and f/2.2 aperture and a 5 MP front-facing snapper with a similar aperture. In comparison, leads in this department with a 13 MP main snapper at its back with HDR, LED flash and more. Also, it has a 5 MP front-facer for selfies.

Battery

The battery capacity in Lenovo Vibe K5 is a 2,750 mAh one that is claimed to provide up to 322 hours of standard time and 15 hours of talk time. On the other hand, the Galaxy J2 Pro is given a 2,600 mAh battery and the backup rendered by the same is yet to be revealed.

Connectivity

Both the smartphones are bundled with connectivity features including 4G LTE, dual-SIM, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and micro USB.

Other Features

As the Galaxy J2, the Galaxy J2 Pro features the Smart Glow ring at its back around the camera. This is basically a LED notification light that can be customized as per the users' preferences. In terms of design, the Lenovo phone has a better and premium design as it is made of metal.
