Samsung Galaxy J2 vs Xiaomi Redmi Note 3: 8 Reasons to Buy the Xiaomi Smartphone
In the Indian smartphone market, there are many smartphones that are priced in the mid-range segment to lure the buyers. In fact, the manufacturers are launching many such devices in order to become successful in the market.

Today, we have come up with a detailed spec comparison between two smartphones - the newly launched Samsung Galaxy J2 and the best-selling Xiaomi Redmi Note 3. These are some of the value for money offerings that are available in the market right now.
Redmi Note 3 Looks Premium
In terms of design, both the smartphones are different to a great extent. The Samsung Galaxy J2 is similar to the other Samsung phones in terms of look with a polycarbonate rear panel. The device comes with the Smart Glow feature that will illuminate the area surrounding the rear camera whenever there is a notification.
On the other hand, the Xiaomi phone features a metallic build that gives a better quality and a premium look and feel as well.
Redmi Note 3 has a bigger FHD screen
The Galaxy J2 is bestowed with a 5-inch Super AMOLED HD 720p display with a standard pixel density of 294 ppi. On the other hand, the Xiaomi offering is fitted with a 5.5-inch FHD 1080p display along with scratch protection and the pixel density is quite higher at 403 ppi.

Besides this, there is the Sunlight Display hardware feature in the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 that makes it better than its competitors. It adjusts the contrast of the pixels in real time so that the images are less affected due to exposure to light outdoors.
Hardware wise, both are very different
The Samsung phone is powered by a quad-core Spreadtrum SC8830 processor while Redmi Note 3 has an hexa-core Snapdragon 801 SoC that can render stellar performance. While the former has just 8 GB of native storage space and 1.5 GB RAM, the latter comes with 16 GB of storage capacity and 2 GB RAM. The expandable storage support in the Galaxy J2 is 128 GB whereas that in the Xiaomi device is 256 GB.
MIUI brings more features
Galaxy J2 is fueled by Android 6.0 Marshmallow, but the Redmi Note 3 runs on MIUI 7 based on Android Lollipop. Xiaomi will soon roll out the MIUI 8 update to the device that will bring improved features.
Redmi Note 3 seems to have a great camera
Galaxy J2 boasts an 8 MP main snapper at its back with LED Flash and autofocus. In comparison, the primary camera on both the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is a 16 MP one with dual LED flash and phase detection autofocus. There is a 5 MP front-facer as well on board on both the devices.

Both support 4G LTE
Both the smartphones support 4G LTE connectivity and they arrive with other standard aspects such as dual-SIM, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, etc. The Xiaomi phone excels with the USB OTG feature as well.
4,000 mAh battery in Xiaomi phone
Galaxy J2 is juiced up by a 2,600 mAh battery, but Redmi Note 3 excels with a 4,000 mAh battery. The latter can definitely last for over a day without any doubts.
Pricing is almost similar
Though both the devices are very different from each other in terms of specs, they are almost similar when it comes to pricing. The Galaxy J2 is priced at Rs 9,750 whereas the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is priced at Rs 9,999.
