It's been not more than a couple of months since Apple showed off its latest flagships, the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus and the rumours about the Apple iPhone 8 are already flowing in thick.

If you've been an Apple loyalist, by now you must've have been aware that Apple has bigger plans for the next year's iPhone and hence the minimalistic design changes in the current series of iPhones.

Typically, Apple overhauls the iPhone's design every two years but, keeping in mind the 10th Anniversary of iPhone (in 2017), the Cupertino-based tech giant has abandoned this strategy.

The company is expected to make huge changes both in terms of aesthetics and internals to the next series of iPhones which will be launched in 2017. And if rumours are anything to go by, these changes will blow you away for sure. Let's take a look at them below.

Three different sizes for the Apple iPhone 8?

A Japanese news website cited that the next iteration of iPhones will be launched in three different size variants. While the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch variants are here to stay, reportedly a new 5-inch variant will add to the iPhone family. This has to be taken with a pinch of salt for now as Apple tests a lot of prototypes which don't make it to the launch always.

Apple to draw design cues from Samsung?

Rumour has it that the 5.5-inch variant will feature a curved OLED display much like the Samsung's Edge series of smartphones. However, unlike the dual-edge curved design, other two variants are expected to feature a regular body.

AMOLED displays are on their way

Another feature speculated to be exclusive for the much premium ‘Plus' variant is an AMOLED display. It was long time coming for Apple to make a switch from LCD to AMOLED displays. Apparently, this is going to be true with the iPhone 8 when it will be launched next year. That said, it's quite a bummer that the Cupertino-based tech giant will still stick to the LCD displays for the other two variants.

Apple iPhone 8 will be the new iPhone 4s

If there's one thing about the iPhone 4s (or iPhone 4) that Apple users can't get over, it has to be the glass sandwiched design. Apple took their design game to a whole new level when it launched the iPhone 4 series of smartphones.

And if rumours are to be believed true Apple is going back to the all-glass design with a metal body holding the glass at front and back.

Wireless Charging and other changes

It's been long rumoured that the Apple iPhones will offer support for wireless charging technology. Finally, it appears to happen on the iPhone 8.

Apple is speculated to get rid of the home button for good in the next iteration of iPhones as the rumour has it that it will integrate it directly under the display.
