We've seen several technologies being implemented in a smartphone in recent times, especially in 2016. Having said that, one such technology is bezel-less display. This year, we have seen a good number of smartphones from various Chinese brands releasing featuring bezel-less display.
With the Xiaomi Mi Mix, the Chinese tech giant created a separate market for itself, which was soon followed by Honor Magic and Lenovo ZUK Edge. There are some other phones as well with bezel-less displays such as the Nubia Z11, which was launched in India recently and some other phones such as Elephone S3, etc.
Here is the list of bezel-less display smartphones launched in 2016.
Xiaomi Mi Mix
The futuristic concept phone from the Apple of China, the Xiaomi Mi Mix, caught everyone's attention with its stunning design and insane 91.4 percent screen-to-body ratio. Having said that, the phone is powerful as well with a quad-core Snapdragon 821 SoC and 6GB of RAM. Though many people complained about its awkward front-facing camera, Xiaomi had to make some compromises to bring a concept phone to reality.
The Nubia Z11 was launched before the Xiaomi Mi Mix but did not get much attention as the latter. However, it is worth noticing that Nubia Z11 boats of an unbelievable 83.27 percent screen-to-body ratio and it has a gorgeous design as well. The Nubia Z11 features a Snapdragon 821 chip under-the-hood along with 6GB of RAM and is betting hard with the OnePlus 3T in India for Rs. 29,999.
Although the Elephone S3 will not launch in India, it is worth noticing that the smartphone comes with a screen-to-body ratio of 83 percent. The design itself is a standout feature on the phone, but it never caught attention with its standard hardware.
The Ulefone Future was unveiled at the MWC 2016 and features an exact design language of the Apple iPhone 6, but it is completely different in terms of its display. The smartphone features an Helio P10 SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.
Lenovo ZUK Edge
ZUK Mobiles, the subsidiary of Lenovo recently announced the ZUK Edge smartphone in China and the phone has 86.4 percent screen-to-body ratio. Also, it is one of the direct competitors to the Xiaomi Mi Mix. The Lenovo ZUK Edge also features the Snapdragon 821 chipset along with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
