Micromax's subsidiary named YU is all set to come up with the much rumored Yutopia smartphone on December 17. Yu has teased the upcoming smartphone Yutopia as the most powerful with beastly features that can easily give a tough competition to even higher end rivals. A few months of teasers later, YU has finally sent out invites for the Yutopia smartphone's unveiling.

YU has already given out information about the specifications of the upcoming flagship smartphone. Going by what's known so far, the phone seems to be a budget offering with high end flagship-level specs that will take on rival Chinese smartphone company's offerings as well as premium smartphones from top brands. But the question is that will this phone become the next flagship killer.

YU has earlier trolled Apple's iPhone 6s base model for its 16GB non-expandable storage, and hinted that the Yutopia will feature higher internal storage with a microSD card slot to expand the memory. Moreover, the company has taken a dig at Samsung's flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S6 Edge for featuring 3GB of RAM. Considering this, it is expected that the phone will come in 4GB RAM option and will offer 32GB of internal memory. Such a storage space combination is rare to be seen in mid-range space.

OnePlus created ripples in the market with its OnePlus One smartphone, which was touted as the flagship killer phone. The company then launched the OnePlus 2 a few months back. However, none of these featured Quick Charging capabilities. Yutopia took a dig at OnePlus for lacking this feature, which could mean the Yutopia will have quick charging capabilities as well.

Yu's upcoming Yutopia has been rumored to feature a 21MP rear camera with LED flash, and an 8MP front-facing snapper to take care of selfies. While most of the premium flagship smartphones are placed on the upwards of Rs 30,000, it is expected that the Yutopia will be priced aggressively. Considering that YU's current range of smartphones have been placed under Rs 10,000, it will be interesting to see how the company will price the Yutopia so that it does not even conflicts with Micromax's range of mid-range smartphones including the recently launched new Canvas flagship.
