Xiaomi launches Redmi 3S+: 5 things you should know
Xiaomi smartphones have a huge fan following in India and the company's handsets sell like hotcakes on e-commerce platforms. Xiaomi Redmi 3S, Redmi Note 3, Redmi 3S Prime are some of the recent handsets that managed to impress the tech savvy Indian audience with their affordable pricing and top-notch hardware.
However, the Chinese tech giant has always been criticized for flash sales model, where consumers often fail to get their hands on Xiaomi devices. Xiaomi is also aware of the fact and is finally doing something to change the very fact with the launch of Redmi 3S+.

Xiaomi’s first offline exclusive smartphone in the country
Xiaomi Redmi 3S+ is company's first offline exclusive smartphone in the Indian market. A Xiaomi spokesperson said, "Redmi 3S+ marks a significant milestone in the history of Mi India towards building a stronger offline retail presence".
Redmi 3S+ will retail across more than 7,500 retailers beginning October 1.
Display and Camera
Xiaomi Redmi 3S+ boasts a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS LCD display. The smartphone sports a 13MP rear camera with PDAF, LED Flash, f/2.0 aperture and can record in 1080p format. The front has a 5MP camera with f/2.2 aperture and can also be used for 1080p video recording.

Processor, RAM and Software
The smartphone is powered by an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 CPU, which utilizes 4 x 1.2 GHz Cortex A53 cores+ 4 x 1.5 GHz Cortex A53 cores. The 64-bit processor is paired up with Adreno 505 GPU to handle graphical tasks.
There is 2GB LPDDR3 RAM with 32GB internal storage, which is expandable by up to 128GB via microSD.
The smartphone runs on MIUI based on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow)
Battery, Connectivity and other features
Xiaomi Redmi 3S+ is backed by a 4,100mAH battery unit, has a fingerprint sensor at the back and has Hybrid Dual SIM (Micro + Nano/ microSD).
The smartphone supports 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, and GPS as connectivity options.
Pricing, Availability and competition
The smartphone is priced at Rs. 9,499 and will be available in Gold, Silver and Grey variants. It will retail across more than 7,500 retailers beginning October 1.
Besides, the smartphone will sell across key large format retailers such as Poorvika, Sangeetha, BIG C and LOT mobiles via distributors -- Redington, Innocomm and Just Buy Live.
Xiaomi Redmi 3S+ will compete with the recently launched Coolpad Note 5, LeEco Le 1S Eco, Moto G4 and Lenovo budget handsets.
