Xiaomi has enjoyed an exciting year till now and the company seems not to rest on the already achieved laurels.
The Chinese manufacturer is already making rounds on the rumor mills regarding its upcoming smartphone - Xiaomi Mi Note 2. In the meantime, the maker seems to be prepping a new smartphone that might also be launched in the coming days.
Lately, Xiaomi announced Xiaomi Mi 5s and Mi 5s Plus that are yet to be launched in India. Now, the Xiaomi Mi 5c seems to be in the making. The smartphone was spotted on a Chinese website via leaked photos.

Xiaomi Mi 5c leaked via photos
The website has leaked four photos of the alleged smartphone - Xiaomi Mi 5c that is likely to be codenamed Meri. The photos reveal the front and back of the purposed phone and its home screen as well.
Key specs of Mi 5c revealed
The leaked photos of the alleged Xiaomi Mi 5c also throw light on some of the key specs of the smartphone as the About Phone section of the device is seen in one of the photos. As per the leaked photo, the device might be equipped with a 2.2 GHz octa-core MediaTek processor and run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based on MIUI 8.6.9. It will feature 64 GB of internal storage space as well.
2.5D glass display is expected
The alleged Mi 5c is expected to be bestowed with a 5.5-inch display that is coated with 2.5D glass. It is also claimed to feature the 4G VoLTE connectivity support.
It could have an E-Ink display
Soon after the leaked photos, its teaser was spotted on Weibo and it shows that the upcoming Xiaomi smartphone features an E-Ink display. E-Ink is a paper-like technology that comes with high contrast and brightness, ultra-low power requirements, and a wide-viewing angle. You can think of Amazon Kindle as it is the best example of E-Ink display technology.
Teaser hints 'Long Awaited'
The teaser that has been leaked online shows the Xiaomi logo that can be spotted right below the camera lens at the back. It also confirms the supposed E-Ink display at the back of the smartphone below the camera as a vertical strip. The teaser has a caption that reads Long Awaited in Chinese. It also hints at the screen showing the time and date.
