The Chinese smartphone maker, Xiaomi has recently launched its budget device - the Redmi Note 3 in India. Now, there is talk going on with the company's second generation Mi Note. Well, until now nothing has been confirmed by the company, but rumors regarding the Mi Note 2's display are abounded online.
Xiaomi has ditched the curved screen display for its latest flagship smartphone - the Mi 5. But, reports from Gizchina, says that the company will use Samsung-made curved AMOLED display to its upcoming Mi Note 2, similar to the recently launched Vivo's Xplay5 Elite.
Another report by ZDNet citing source familiar with the matter stated that Samsung Display is expecting orders for AMOLED panels, especially the curved once. Apart from Xiaomi, the Chinese vendors including Huawei have also requested Samsung Display for curved screen samples. This hints that the OEMs will add the technology in their future smartphones that are expected to launch this year.
Just to recall, the previous Xiaomi Mi Note, which was launched back in January 2015, sports a 5.7-inch full-HD display with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels made by Sharp JDI display. The display also featured Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection on top and also featured a 2.5D glass at the front, while the back features 3D glass for protection.
Well, there is no official details about the rumored Mi Note 2, but there are few rumors talking about the specs of the smartphone, have a look at the slider below.
The original Xiaomi Mi Note is a phablet sized handset featuring a 5.7-inch display, so the rumors suggest its successor will be a similar size or as close as possible.
Like all the latest smartphone launched this year, the Mi Note 2 is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 820 processor and will be paired with 4GB RAM and will run on latest MIUI based on Android OS.
The company's flagship the Xiaomi Mi 5 comes in three storage variant: the standard edition has 32GB or 64GB of internal storage, whereas the Pro boasts a massive 128GB of inbuilt storage space. Well it is expected that the Note 2 will also follow the same path of the flagship device.
The original Mi Note features a 13-megapixel Sony's 2nd generation IMX214 CMOS sensor with OIS and a 4-megapixel front facing camera for selfie. Meanwhile, rumors claim that the Mi Note 2 will have similar camera hardware or the sensors used in Mi 5.
Xiaomi is not likely to launch the rumored Mi Note 2 in the coming week. According to industry experts the company will want to maximize sales of its latest flagship Xiaomi Mi 5 smartphone.
