Today, the Chinese handset maker, Oppo has launched the limited edition of Oppo F1 smartphone at a price of Rs. 17,990 ahead of Cricket World Cup T20. This F1 ICC WT20 limited edition smartphone is available in Golden variant with T20 world cup logo on its rear.

Along with the device, the company also packs a gift kit including - ICC WT20 2016 key chain, selfie stick and a back cover with the ICC logo. In an attempt to promote the device, Oppo is also offering an contest to win the mobile for free during the match through 'Catch The Six' - Grab a six.

On the specs front, the Oppo F1 comes with 5-inch HD IPS display, Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 SoC, 3GB RAM, 32GB of inbuilt memory with expandable option up to 128GB via microSD card slot.

Other features include 13MP/8MP camera, Android 5.1 Lollipop, 4G LTE and powered by a 2500mAh battery. Today, we are going to compare this device with the Xiaomi's latest Redmi Note 3, which is in line with Oppo F1 specification wise. Let's go ahead and compare.

Redmi Note 3 comes in Unibody, while the Oppo F1 has metal case!

Coming to the design, the Redmi Note 3 comes with a premium look and feel with unibody metal design. On the back, this device gets a smooth matte finish, which doesn't attract fingerprint magnet.

Meanwhile, the Oppo F1 too comes with metal chassis, which indeed looks premium and weighing just 134gm in the hands.

Redmi Note 3 sports a bigger display than Oppo F1

The Redmi Note 3 sports a 5.5-inch full-HD IPS display, with scratch resistant layer even though the company hasn't stated. Further, this Note 3 comes with Sunlight display, which automatically increases the contrast under harsh light.

On the other hand, the Oppo F1 comes with bit smaller size display - 5-inch HD IPS, which tends to provide vivid colours. In order to avoid to scratches, the company has equipped F1 device with Corning Gorilla Glass.

Redmi Note 3 comes in two variants

The Oppo F1 comes powered by an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 64-Bit processor with Adreno 405 GPU. In addition, the F1 comes with 3GB RAM, 32GB inbuilt memory with an expandable option up to 128GB via microSD card slot.

Meanwhile, on the storage front, the Redmi Note 3 comes in two variants - 2GB RAM with 16GB inbuilt memory and 3GB RAM with 32GB inbuilt memory. However, both the variant comes with expandable memory option via microSD card slot.

Oppo F1 stands out in imaging factor

Talking about the imaging factor, the Redmi Note 3 employs a 16MP rear camera with wide f/2.0 aperture and dual tone flash. This device is capable of shooting 1080p videos and slow motion videos. On the front, this device comes with 5MP camera with wide aperture for selfies.

The Oppo F1 on the other hand, is backed with 13MP camera with LED Flash, f/2.2 aperture, PDAF, 1080p video recording. On the front, this device is supported by 8MP camera with f/2.0 aperture for taking selfies.

Moreover, the camera comes with features like - Expert mode, slow shutter, HDR and others. Being a selfie device, the company has added couple of features into it. One is the 'Screen Flash' which uses the backlight of the display to light up the face and there is a 'Palm Shutter' which lets you to capture a selfie by waving palm.

Both the Smartphones shipped with Android 5.1 Lollipop

Further, on the software, both the device is shipped with Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box on top of their respective UI. The Xiaomi uses MIUI 7.1 while on the other hand Oppo uses Color OS 2.1.

Supports usual connectivity options

Incase of connectivity both the smartphones shares similar options including 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS under the hood.

Redmi Note 3 has huge 4050mAh battery

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 comes with the non-removable 4050mAh battery, which allows the users to use the device up to 12 hours of video playback. Additionally, the device also supports Qualcomm's Quick Charge feature, which manages to charge quickly. On the other hand, the Oppo F1 is equipped with the2500mAh battery without fast charging technology.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is priced at Rs. 9,999 for 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, and Rs.11,999 for 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. Knowing the condition of Indian mobile market, Xiaomi has priced it right to take on the mid-range smartphones in India.

With lots to offer at this price range, it is difficult to find fault with Redmi Note 3 and we believe with future upgrades, this device will only get better. On the flipside, the camera-centric Oppo F1 is priced at Rs. 17,990, which is quite good considering its specifications. This device would have been brilliant if the company has priced below sub 15k.
