As usual, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 has some decent set of specs for its pricing. And, the company is touting the smartphone as 'housand Yuan Flagship' which is true to some extent.
The Redmi Note 4 will be the successor to the six months back released Redmi Note 3, which has gained much attention in the company's own ground China and even in India. In a recent survey, it is said that Xiaomi has sold more than 1.75 million units of Redmi Note 3 in India.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 features the same design launguage of other Xiaomi smartphones released this year. The metal trend continues with the Redmi Note 4 as well and there is no change in the fingerprint position as well.
The smartphone measures 151 x 76 x 8.35mm and weighs 175 grams, which is almost on par with the recently announced Redmi Pro.
The Redmi Note 4 retails the same 5.5-inch display from the Redmi Note 3. The 1080p display can now exhibit upto 450 nit brightness levels.
The major upgrade is the chipset in the Redmi Note 4. The smartphone is powered by the high-end Helio X20 chipset, which is very good to see in a smartphone under 1000 Yuan.
All the 10 cores of the chipset are clocked at 2.1GHz. RAM on this device varies between 2GB and 3GB. Xiaomi is releasing the smartphone in two variants. One with 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage and the other one with 3GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. It is good to see that Xiaomi has gone for 64GB of storage variant.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 features a 13MP rear camera with 5 piece lens and f/2.0 aperture. The rear camera also has support for PDAF, dual tone LED flash and HDR mode.
A 5MP camera can be seen on the front with Beauty 2.0 mode, f/2.0 aperture, and facial recognisation mode. The rear camera can record videos at 1080p resolution and also records 720p slow-motion videos at 120fps.
There are a standard set of connectivy options such as 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, USB OTG. The smartphone comes with the USB Type-C port.
The Redmi Note 4 comes with a 4,100mAh battery, which is the same battery capacity seen on the Redmi smartphones released in recent times, apart from massive Mi Max. The smartphone also has support for fast charging.
The smartphone comes preloaded with MIUI 8, which is the company's own skinned UI on top of Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
The 2GB RAM and 16GB storage variant cost 899 Yuan (approx. $135) and the 3GB RAM and 64GB storage variant retails for around 1199 Yuan (approx. $180). The smartphone will be available in three color variants- gray, silver, and gold.
