|

Taiwanese handset maker, HTC launched Droid DNA for USA a couple of weeks back and hinted that the global version of the same named Butterfly will be launched soon by listing the handset on its website.

However, it seems like HTC is prepping the successor of Butterfly - M7 (could be a codename), which could be its next flagship device.

As per a recent HTCSource report citing numerous sources, HTC is working with casing and semiconductor suppliers in order to manufacture 4 to 5 million units of HTC M7 within Q1 2013.

HTC M7 Coming in 2013: Can it Help Boost Smartphone Sales?

There is nothing much known about the handset, but, going by the speculations, M7 could come with 5 inch 1080p display, Qualcomm APQ8064 quad core processor, 13MP rear camera and a complete unibody aluminum build.

Can M7 Help Boost Smartphone Sales?

With several companies planning to launch 1080p full HD display incorporated devices including LG, Sony, Samsung, Huawei and more, it becomes evident that HTC will have to plan effectively to unleash M7 at the right time into the market in order to secure some impressive sales figure.

The report states that HTC will unleash M7 into the market in the first quarter of next year, well ahead of the launch of Galaxy S4. Moreover, considering the usual strategy of HTC, the company is well know for showcasing the handsets, especially flagship devices at the Mobile World Congress in February and releasing them in April.

However, if HTC manages to bring M7 into the market a little early as speculated, it could take a little advantage over Samsung, which is reportedly bringing Galaxy S4 in May. This way M7 might grab some sales before consumers opt for Samsung's flagship device.

Further, HTC, which has been struggling to compete against competitors includung Samsung and Apple hopes to turn those tables by appointing a brand new chief marketing officer in late November. The firm named Benjamin Ho as its new CMO, who will take the helm beginning in January 2013.

Hence, there could be some changes in the usual launch process of HTC on account of new CMO, who has been appionted to make some drastic changes in the smartphone sales.
