It looks like the launch of the first dual screen featuring smartphone called the Yotaphone is near. Flipkart, will be the exclusive e-commerce partner who will be responsible to sell the handset in India. The company has recently confirmed the official launch of the device in the sub-continent by rolling out the new teaser.

Just a couple of weeks back, Flipkart let the information out that suggested that it would launch of dual screen YotaPhone in India and online retailer also listed the same on its website.

The YotaPhone was first introduced at the MWC 2013 and it went on sale in several counties in December last year. However, it failed to make its visit to India and many other markets. Thus far, Yota - Russian smartphone manufacturer has only unveiled two smartphones under the YotaPhone branding.

YotaPhone: Key Specifications

The phone comes with a 4.3-inch 720p primary LCD display and a 4.3-inch (360×640 pixels) EPD rear screen, 16 grayscale which has a capacitive touch zone below the EPD for gesture controls.

It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8960 dual-core processor tuned to 1.7GHz and it is also supported by a 2GB of RAM. To talk about the OS, the phone runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean version with special YotaPhone gestures and Put2Back applications for the back screen.
Internal storage capacity comes with 32GB and imaging segment is taken care by a 13-megapixel primary camera with autofocus and LED flash and a 1-megapixel front facing snapper.

In terms of connectivity, regular features like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS/AGPS and 4G LTE / 3G can be found. Other than that, there are presence of a number of sensors like Accelerometer, compass, gyroscope, proximity and ambient light sensor. The device which measures 133.6 x 67 x 9.99mm and 146g draws its energy from a 1800mAh battery.

The dual screen featuring smartphone from the Russian manufacturer will surely make the Indian customers excited. The device is pretty impressive beyond its dual display technology as well. Although, Flipkart has not mentioned the specific date for the launch of the YotaPhone at the moment, at least it is confirmed.

Also the pricing of the devices remains unknown and since it is pretty much of a new technology, it is challenging job to also make a speculation on the price of the device in Indian currency. However, taking the cues from the price in Russia, which is 20,000 rubles, it is expected that it will land in the Indian shore at the price of around Rs. 38,558.
