Over the week, the Indian tech market has been splashed with a low of budget tech offerings from several manufacturers including local and global vendors. It is quite interesting to note that there is not tablet launch this week.
Moreover, all the smartphones that have been launched fall under budget price points and are equipped with impressive specifications.

Samsung Galaxy Grand
Unveiled in December 2012, Samsung released the dual SIM version of the phablet in India at a special event held on January 22 at an affordable price tag of Rs 21,500.
When it comes to specs, Galaxy Grand packs a 5 inch multi-touch LCD capacitive touchscreen display with a very low resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, dual core 1.2GHz processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, 8MP rear camera, 2MP front camera for video calling, 8GB internal storage capacity, 1GB RAM, micro SD card slot supporting up to 64GB additional storage, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB, HDMI, A-GPS, DLNA and a 2,100 mAh Li-ion battery, which will offer decent backup.
Micromax A116 Canvas HD
Micromax has made all heads turn towards it by launching a quad core Jelly Bean phablet - A116 Canvas HD housing a 5 inch HD IPS capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, 1.2GHz quad core MediaTek MT6589 processor, 8MP rear camera, VGA front camera for video calling, 4GB internal storage, 1GB RAM, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB additional storage, 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth and GPS/A-GPS.
Further, Canvas HD is loaded with a 2,100 mAh battery and comes with dual SIM feature. Micromax A116 Canvas HD is loaded with applications including M!Store, M!Buddy, M!SMS, M!Zone and Hook Up.
Though the official pricing of the handset is not revealed by Micromax, the handset is estimated to be priced below Rs 15,000.
Lava Xolo A500
Lava Mobiles has launched a budget dual SIM Android smartphone - Xolo A500 boasting a 4 inch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, 1GHz dual core processor, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, 5MP rear camera, 0.3MP front camera, 4GB internal storage, 512MB RAM, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB additional storage, Bluetooth, GPS, 3G, Wi-Fi and a 1,500 mAh battery of undisclosed backup. Further, the handset is priced at Rs 6,999 making it reasonable in the budget conscious Indian smartphone market.
Mak Mobility Agni, Aakash and Prithvi
Mak Mobility has entered the feature phone market with the launch of three smartphones under the Trio series - Agni, Aakash and Prithvi in the price range of Rs 1,199 to Rs 2,999.
All the three feature GPRS connectivity and Stereo Bluetooth and come with big 2.6 inch display with a 1,400 mAh battery. Aakash and Agni models comes with King Movie/HD video Player with MP3 and FM Stereo with recording facility, 1.3 megapixel camera and up to 16 GB memory card support. Prithvi is integrated with VGA camera including Special Box speaker with K-Class amplifier that expects to offer good sound quality.
Sansui S23 and S30
Sansui Mobile Phones has announced the addition of new, feature-rich phones to its successful ‘S' Series, with brighter and vibrant displays, marathon batteries, loud sound and with a gamut of applications, all at affordable prices.
S23 comes packed with a vibrant 1.8 inch display and a 1,000 mAh battery, whereas, S30 boasts a 2.2 inch display and a 1,800 mAh battery for longer usage and standby time. Moreover, S23 and S30 come equipped with LED Torch and 8GB internal storage. Sansui has priced S23 and S30 at Rs 1,100 and Rs 1,290 respectively.
