As the trend of smartphone in the market is booming, in India several consumers have started going for big global brands offering high priced, high speced handset offerings. But that does not mean that the domestic handset vendors have no place in the list of most searched smartphones.
According to a recent report by PrecisionMatch on 'Mobile Handset Market Insights' in India, between the months December 2012 to February 2013, the homegrown manufacturer - Micromax has occupied the second position in the most searched smartphone brands surpassing the market dominators.
The report details the interest of consumers in Micromax smartphones, as the company is in the second position, sparing the first one to Samsung. The South Korean manufacturer Samsung has caught the first place when it comes to online search queries with over 31% of the total searches followed by Micromax with 17% and Nokia with 16%. Obviously, Apple, Sony, BlackBerry, HTC and LG are left behind.
When it comes to the handsets that have driven the search results, A110 Canvas 2 launched in October 2012 has fetched enormous traction among the consumers in January and has managed to be the second most searched smartphone in February. The handset is trailing with Samsung Galaxy S3 only by 0.32%, which is not a significant figure.
The Cupertino based Apple has managed to be the fourth in the list with the help of iPhone 5 while Samsung has got seven models in the top 10 list.
From the searches made, it has been concluded that consumers are willing to buy low-cost handsets below Rs 15,000 or high-end smartphones above Rs 20,000. Take a look at the slideshow below to acquaint yourself with the best searched and selling smartphones in India right now.
