Gaming Wars: Micromax G4 Gamolution & Maxx MX 388 Glo
Ever since the Nokia N-Gage brought the mobile gaming sensation to India, quite a lot of manufacturers have dished out gaming specific phones. Today gaming phones come equipped with the latest motion sensors and surrounding adaptors to seamlessly allow for greater control and flexibility in gaming. Gaming experience is no longer the same!

Today we will take a look at two models in comparison, from the pretty much similar budget range. One is the Maxx MX 388 Glo and the other is the Micromax G4 Gamolution. Both are solid and cheap gaming phones, but who stands out to be a clear winner?? Well let us take a look at the comparisons.

The Maxx Glo is priced under Rs 2300 and comes with almost 250 Pre-loaded games. The games include shooting, cricket, action and even strategy oriented ones. It has two dedicated gaming buttons the “Start" and “Select" which is a pretty nice option because it makes the phone quite easy to operate. It serves the same purpose as dedicated music keys in music oriented phones.

There are 2 buttons namely the X and the O button which turn the phone into a gamepad when placed in a landscape orientation. The battery life is a tad disappointing for a gaming phone though. The phone packs in a free 2GB Micro SD card and can be extended up to 8 GB. It has audio playback support and comes with Bluetooth and Java as standard options. But that"s pretty much everything about the Maxx Glo in terms of highs.

The winner of the lot would certainly be the Micromax G4 because at a price tag of around Rs 3000 it offers almost everything the Maxx Glo offers but in a much more exciting manner befitting a gaming phone.

The Micromax G4 is motion sensitive and thus it gives a thrilling gaming experience to its users. The phone comes with a free Bluetooth Dongle which you can use to turn the mobile into a remote control device like the one available with Nintendo or Sony PSP. The package also includes a DVD which contains a list of games which you can install on your PC and operate by using the Phone as a remote control.

The wireless remote connection sometimes fails to connect properly but for this price the phone actually offers a high quality gaming experience. It totally eliminates the need for gaming enthusiasts to dish out more for gaming consoles. The phone is also dual SIM and has all the basic features like FM,

Bluetooth, 2 Mega Pixel camera, expandable memory and so on. So the Micromax G4 Gamolution clearly outsmarts the Maxx MX 388 Glo for the price tag and thus is one of the most affordable and versatile gaming phones available in the Indian market.
