Gionee Clamshell Smartphone Leaks Online Touting Dual 1080p Display [REPORT]

China based mobile maker, Gionee, which is known for its slim range of Elife smartphones is now reportedly working on a dual display phone.

The upcoming smartphone has been spotted recently in the Chinese mobile certification testing firm TENAA. The soon-to-be-launched dual display phone is codenamed Gionee W900 and comes in a clamshell design which resembles the Samsung Galaxy Golden 2.

Gionee W900 - What Specs to Expect?

As certified by TENAA, reportedly Gionee W900 is said to sport a 4-inch display both internally and externally with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels which translates 550 pixel per inch. As claimed by the certification company, it is said to carry a dimension of 14.8mm thickness when closed and might weigh around 172 grams.

Further, it should come powered by 1.5 Ghz quad-core processor (from an unknown manufacturer), while a 13 MP rear camera, 5 MP front facing camera is expected. Other specification might include 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory, Android KitKat 4.4.4 and 2,050 mAh battery.

While there is no announcement from Gionee's end about the pricing and the release yet of W900, but reportedly, the clamshell device is expected to be available only in China very soon.

Competition :

Is Gionee the first company to introduce the dual display smartphone in the mobile market ? If yes, you are probably wrong. Samsung has already made it before, when last the company launched Galaxy Golden.

According to the latest leaked images, the South Korean company has already started to work on the successor of Galaxy Golden 2. The dual display smartphoneis said to fluanta 3.9-inch Super AMOLED display internally and externally with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels.

It is also said to come power packed with 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 processor, 16 MP rear camera, 3.7 MP front facing camera, 16GB internal memory and more.
