Android KitKat is perhaps the flavor of the season with more and more new phones receiving the update from their respective makers. The new one to join the bandwagon, as it seems, is Gionee.
According to reports, Shortly after announcing the Android 4.4.2 KitKat availability for the Elife S5.5, the company has revealed that it has pushed out the new update for its Gionee CTRL V5 handset.
The CTRL V5, however, is not the only smartphone launched by the Chinese company that's set to receive the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update. Gionee had confirmed that the Pioneer P4 will also get the upgrade in the next couple of days.
The Gionee CTRL V5, if you know, comes with a 4.7-inch capacitive touch screen display offering a qHD resolution of 960×540 pixels. The smartphone is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor and Mali 400 GPU coupled with 1GB of RAM. It ran on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) OS on release.
The device also features a decent 8MP Auto Focus rear camera with LED flash and 2MP front-facing shooter as well. While native storage capacity include 8GB which can be further expandable up to 32GB via micro SD card.
The Gionee CTRL V5 measures 8.07 mm thick and weighs 103.5 and draws its energy from a 1800 mAh battery. Those who are yet to be notified with the update can manually check for it by heading to Settings -- About phone -- System updates -- Check for updates.
