Gionee, a Chinese smartphone maker is set to roll out the Android KitKat update for the Gionee Elife E7 users in the upcoming days. This update is set to start rolling out in March and is expected to bring several key improvements for the smartphone. Apart from KitKat updates, the users will also get updates in its very own UI Amigo.
Coming to the features of KitKat update, it comes with tweaked user interface, which offers a translucent menu bar located at the bottom of the screen, and new transition effects when you open the app launcher. New dialler with caller ID, Unified Hangouts messaging apps, Smarter Google Now integration, Better support for cloud printing, Chrome WebView, Enhanced support for connectivity options, Better accessibility options, Screen recording.
Moving to the specification of the smartphone, Gionee Elife E7, sports a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels. It is powered by 2.2GHz processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 alongside 2GB RAM. On the storage, it supports a 16GB internal storage and runs on Android 4.2 out of the box.
Moreover, on the imaging factor, it features a 16MP rear camera with LED flash, 8MP front camera for selfies. This device supports connectivity options like 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, Wi-Fi Direct, 3.5mm audio jack, FM Radio along with some sensors like Compass/ Magnetometer, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor, Gyroscope.
